Play School Live on Stage – Set in the Play School games room, two Presenters and helpful Toys discover different coloured boxes are filled with surprises. With familiar toys Big Ted, Little Ted, Jemima, and Humpty also featuring Joey and Kiya. Filled with the adventures of imagination the show will take children across the sea, up in the sky and over the moon. There’s a Sea in My Bedroom – Based on the beloved 1984 children’s book written by award-winning author Margaret Wild and illustrated by Jane Tanner, There’s a Sea in My Bedroom captures the magic of a child’s fantasy world. Sep 28-Oct 4, ACO Walsh Bay Arts Precinct.

Tinkerbell and the Dream Fairies – This Spring school holidays, join in an enchanting world of song and dance as the adventurous Tinkerbell flies into the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney. Along the way, she’ll meet up with some fairies from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the cheeky Mustardseed, fluttery Moth, daring Cobweb and sweet Peaseblossom; who will help Tinkerbell on a magical quest to find her lost wings. Sept 28-Oct 13.

Spring School Holiday Activities @ Darling Square – Enjoy a day of fun, creativty and good food. Paint a library bag workshops will take place from 11am-2pm outside the Exchange. This is a free workshop where kids can design and personalise their own reusable, Spring themed library bag. All materials will be provided. While kids get crafty, they can also enjoy a live DJ performance mixing up party favourites and kids tunes. Families can choose from an array of dining options, special kids menu and offers like a $15 kids happy meal at Auvers Dining or a kids bowl at Dopa by Devon. Plus there is an open-air roller skating rink next door at Darling Harbour. Oct 3-4, Darling Square.

Shakespeare & Soundtracks Holiday Camp – Are you ready to embark on an unforgettable journey into the world of Shakespeare and musical storytelling? This three-day holiday camp is the perfect blend of excitement, practical learning, and creativity for young minds. Shakespeare and Soundtracks is an innovative program giving kids practical skills in music and dramatic stagecraft. The teachers specialise in making the language of Shakespeare fun and accessible for primary aged kids. They aim to inspire children to enjoy a lifelong love of the performing arts. Oct 8-10.

Kid’s Club – The Rec Club Miranda turns into a kid’s wonderland in the School Holidays, with the Kids Club House. With Inflatable World and all their School holiday camp programs and activities, there’s something for everyone and the fun never stops. Sep 30-Oct 11.

Painting class at Cook@Kurnell – Included in the cost per child is: simple step by step instructions to help them create a masterpiece, an apron to wear to protect their clothes. $20. Ages 5-16. Oct 3-11.

Play Kids Festival – This October school holidays, The Pavilion brings back its annual Play! Kids Festival for 2024. For one week only, Southern Sydney’s newest entertainment venue turns into a kids-only playground with a range of interactive performances, workshops and concerts from some of Australia’s best children’s performing arts companies. Oct 9-12.

Centennial Equastrian School Holiday Pony Camp – School Holiday Pony Camp is now open for bookings! Powerhouse Castle Hill – Children aged 5+ can experience a series of free artist-led workshops, getting the chance to design colourful furniture, make art with fabric and paper and participate in a sensory clay experience. Sep 28-Oct 13.

West

Spring School Holidays programs @ Powerhouse – Powerhouse and TAFE NSW will present a new series of Creative Studio workshops for Western Sydney high school students at PHIVE Parramatta. The spring school holiday program will focus on videogame creation and engineering, inviting students to develop creative skills in collaboration with leading Sydney creatives, scientists, and educators. Sep 28-Oct 13.
Awesome Black Founder and Gamilaroi and Dharug artist Travis De Vries will use gameplay as a creative tool to guide the next generation of video game developers. Sep 30-Oct 2. Big Sand creative director Sally Coleman will lead a three-day motion capture workshop using Unreal Engine, a popular 3D platform used to create iconic games including Fortnite and Ginger and the Vegesaurs. Oct 8-10.

Creatures of the Ice Age Sydney Zoo – Creatures of the Ice Age have emerged from their frozen hideaways and are now making themselves at home at Sydney Zoo! Grab a map and embark on an epic adventure to discover giant, moving, roaring beasts that once ruled the frozen world. Get up close to the mighty mammoth, roar with the sabre-toothed tiger, chill with the polar bears, and much more. Sep 28-Oct 12, Sydney Zoo.
