Lunar New Year – Darling Harbour is hosting an epic celebration to help you bring in the Year of the Snake in style. Catch the traditional Chinese lion dancing performances, where an ornately decorated lion moves to a vigorous drum beat to bring good luck and fortune for the Lunar New Year. See them in all their glory as they roam around Darling Harbour. February 1-9, Darling Harbour.

Summer at the Sea Museum – Summer at the Sea Museum brings the waterfront and galleries alive with play, discovery and fun for kids of all ages. The creative-packed summer program includes new exhibitions, experiences, and performances with all your favourite activities. Until Feburary 2, Maritime Museum.

Sydney Lunar Streets – Haymarket comes alive to celebrate the Lunar New Year with an unforgettable street party to launch the Sydney Lunar Festival and welcome the Year of the Snake. Wander through market stalls offering food, gifts, and more, while enjoying a mix of traditional and contemporary performances across three stages. Dixon Street Mall showcases the stunning snake family installation, and George Street features dazzling zodiac animal lanterns to admire. 5-10pm, February 1, Dixon St, Sydney.

Lion Dance Kids – Experience the heart-thumping beats of Lunar New Year as dancers from Lion Dance Kids perform remarkable acrobatic stunts and storytelling through dance in front of the Art Gallery of New South Wales’ north building, Naala Badu. 10.30am, February 1, Art Gallery of NSW.

Lunar New Year Street Party – Celebrate the Year of the Snake with a vibrant outdoor celebration on Burwood Road, featuring contemporary and traditional entertainment, food and market stalls, and kid’s activities. Fireworks at 9pm will light up the night, followed by an energetic open-air dance party to keep the fun going. 5-10pm, January 31, from Railway Pde to Belmore St, Burwood Rd, Burwood.

The 78-Storey Treehouse – The team behind The 13, 26, 52 & 91-Storey Treehouse shows brings the blockbuster 78-Storey Treehouse back to the stage. Recommended for children aged 6-12 and their adults. Until February 2, Seymour Centre.

Fairfield Summer Fair – Fairfield Showground hosts a day of family fun alongside the famous Saturday markets. Enjoy carnival rides, including dodgem cars, and test your skills at classic carnival games. Leashed pets are welcome, making it a great day out for the whole family.
