Sydney Fringe Festival – This year, Fringe Kids is taking over three spectacular spaces and is bringing explosive entertainment in the daytime tailored for families and kids. Events include Monski Mouse Baby Disco Dance Hall, Drag Story Time, Piccolo Ponies, Dinosaur Time Machine and more. September 15-October 1, various locations in the CBD and at The Entertainment Quarter Moore Park.
Tinkerbell and the Dream Fairies – This Spring school holidays, join in on an enchanting world of song and dance as the adventurous Tinkerbell flys into the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney. Along the way, she’ll meet up with some fairy fairies from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the cheeky Mustardseed, fluttery Moth, daring Cobweb and sweet Peaseblossom, who will help Tinkerbell on a magical quest to find her lost wings. The audience is invited to join in the fun and come along in their favourite fancy dress. Runtime is 1hr 15min with no interval. Ages 4+. From $25, children under 12 months are free. Waru – Journey of a small turtle – Australia’s leading Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performing arts company, Bangarra Dance Theatre is touring their stunning work for children, Waru – Journey of the small turtle. A journey of survival and discovery with our heroine Migi the turtle, the contemporary saltwater Lagaw Kazil (Island Children) story is inspired by the totemic system of the green turtle, in an interactive and immersive introduction to Torres Strait Islander culture and dance. Ages 3-7. September 27- October 14, Bangarra Studio Theatre, Walsh Bay.
Pullman Sydney Hyde Park – The hotel has announced a delicious partnership ahead of the spring school holidays, one which will see guests get the first taste of the new Murray St Ice Creamery range. The new range has been created in partnership with Australian pastry chef and chocolate queen Kirsten Tibballs, and will be available to guests of the hotel throughout the school holidays. The sweet treats are delivered via a traditional ice cream cart and available to guests between 3 pm-4pm. September 25-October 8. Pullman Sydney, Hyde Park.
Have your cake and eat it too -The hugely popular Cake Decorating classes are back at Novotel Sydney Central. Kids Yoga – Take part in this free enjoyable and healthy activity for kids, with parents and carers invited to join in on all the stretchy, bendy fun. Classes are tailored children aged 2 to 12 years. 10.30am & 11.30am, every Friday, Darling Quarter.
Maritime Museum – There’s a range of exhibitions, workshops and activities being held at the Maritime Museum these school holidays. September 24-October 8, Darling Harbour.
Sydney Opera House – Check out the events happening at the Sydney Opera House these holidays, including Alphabetical Sydney and Paper Planet. September 20-October 7, Sydney Opera House and The Neilson, Dawes Point.
Unicorn Magic Month – Yo-Chi has kicked off Unicorn Magic Month. Venues will be decked out in unicorn-themed decorations which is guaranteed to become an immersive and creative experience for all ages popping into Yo-Chi for the month. Chi-lovers will find unicorn-themed toppings and unicorn swirl yogurt as well as offering Tony’s Chocolonely White Raspberry Popping Candy Chocolate Bar. Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie adventure – Meet Skye at Sea Life Sydney Aquarium and Wild Life Sydney Zoo this spring and celebrate the release of Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie, by helping her team of Mighty Pups rescue animals from the supervillains. Young adventurers can search for the hidden clues on an interactive trail and learn about the unique superpowers of their favourite creatures. There will also be daily meet and greets where children can capture a photo with Skye. September 23 – 8 October 8, Darling Harbour.
Dinosaur Festival – The Australian Museum is holding their Dinosaur Festival which features live science shows, performances, roaming dinosaurs, a T. rex autopsy, as well as the brand-new Hologram Dinosaurs experience. Now until October 8, Australian Museum, Sydney.

Room on the Broom – Adapted from the award-winning picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, Room on the Broom is coming to the stage this September. Following sell-out seasons across Australia, the team behind The Gruffalo return with songs, laughs and scary fun for children aged 3 and up. September 29-October 1, The Concourse, Chatswood.
Bluey at Pittwater RSL – Bluey and Bingo are heading to Pittwater for a very special Funday Sunday Event. Enjoy an interactive experience as well as face painting and balloon animals. Kids eat free with an adult meal. Entry is $10 per person. Sunday, October 1, Pittwater RSL, Pittwater.
Hello Kitty’s Symphony Concert: The Ribbon Kingdom -Hello Kitty and Friends together with The Ribbon Kingdom Band present a classical concert for Australian fans. The Ribbon Kingdom Band, composed of Hello Kitty, Daniel, MyMelody, and Badbadtz-Maru, are getting ready to perform a special show. The concert will feature classical tracks such as Beethoven’s Für Elise, Baucherini’s Menuet, Mozart’s Turkish March, Austin’s Dolly’s Dreaming and Awakening, and Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. It will showcase various musical instruments including the piano, violin, viola, cello, and flute. Ages 4+ October 5-7, The Concourse, Chatswood.

The Adventures of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie – May Gibb’s Tales of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie is being brought to life on stage and outdoors during the spring school holidays.The Gumnut Babies are on a mission to see a human – but only from a distance. On their journey to the big city they meet friends and foes including Mrs Kookaburra, Mrs Fantail, Mr Lizard, Mr Frog, Mrs Snake, and, of course, Little Ragged Blossom. $22. This year’s program features a fun-filled line-up of theatre, musical performances, physical comedy, engaging workshops and circus acts, all guaranteed to keep children of all ages entertained throughout the school holidays. Jurassic World: The Exhibition – This is a family-friendly exhibit of massive proportions based on one of the blockbuster franchise. Visitors walk through the iconic “Jurassic World” gates, explore richly themed environments, encounter a life-sized brachiosaurus, velociraptors and more. Guests will even interact with baby dinosaurs, including “Bumpy” from the popular animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous. Ages 3+. From $39 for children and $49 for adults.
